  • mit meinem bulgarischen Dudelsack draußen auf irgendeinem Feld

Susi Evans plays clarinet and accordion, lives in London and is the founder member of She’Koyokh, “the UK’s best klezmer and Balkan band” (Evening Standard). Susi also co-founded the London Klezmer Quartet who have toured in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil and recorded several of Susi’s compositions. She appeared regularly on the West End stage in the National Theatre’s smash-hit production of War Horse and has worked with BAFTA-winning composer Jocelyn Pook, the Mahogany Opera Group and as musical director for Limbik Theatre. Susi graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2004 and continued her studies in Istanbul with Selim Sesler and in Bulgaria with Nikola Iliev. She is Programme Director for Klezfest London and a regular faculty member at Yiddish Summer Weimar. 

This summer She’Koyokh will perform as soloists with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, London. In 2017 Susi received an ARAM (Associate of the Royal Academy of Music), awarded to former students who have made a significant contribution to the music profession.
